Our family was recommended to AIA by our neighbor when moving here and have relied on them for about 20 years. They have seen us through when I was a single working mother with one car and no other drivers - and we had to have a working car all the time - through the kid's teenage years of multiple cars. They've picked us up, dropped us off, let us leave or pick up after hours, worked to get work done before I had to pick up kids at school. Oh, they ha ve good wifi and snacks as well. I trust them to tell me when something has to be done or can be put off. I live half an hour away now and still come into this shoppe because I trust the Hazeltines. Our family can recommend without hesitation. (and there is a good Thai restaurant across the street)

Jeff will try very hard to get the parts that you need. Even though my Volkswagen Rialta is 25 yrs old, they have obtained parts and restored this vehicle mechanically to the point where it is in excellent condition.

I was in Venice last July moving the in-laws out of state. The plan was to rent a U-Haul trailer load it up that afternoon and hit the road the next morning. At the U-Haul rental place we were going through the safety check out procedure and discovered that one of the trailers brake light and turn signal wasn't working. They were confident it wasn't a problem with the trailer. U-Haul's policy was if everything wasn't working they couldn't let it leave the lot. Rocky (at U-Haul) directed me to Jeff at American Import Auto. I was in panic mode because my time table was thrown off and I didn't have time for a vehicle repair. Walking in to the shop a bit frazzled I explained my plight to Jeff. He immediately stopped what he was working on, took my vehicle information and began researching. After a few minutes we walked out to the vehicle and popped open the fuse panel. He pulled out the old fuse, went into the shop, came back with a new one and put it in. Jeff said that should do the trick. I asked him how much I owed him, he said no charge, just have a safe trip home. Due to the fact that I was from out of town and was on a tight schedule Jeff could have taken advantage of the situation, but he didn't! He was professional and demonstrated his heart for customer service. Much thanks to American Import Auto from a grateful Midwesterner.

Had an amazing experience with American Import Auto. We took our 2012 Dodge Journey we just bought in for a complete check and engine light diagnostic check. They came back on time with full report including photos and information. They also went above and beyond by checking if our car was still under warranty for repairs. This saved us over $2,500. We can’t thank the team enough for everything they have done. We wouldn’t recommend anyone else.

This is the very best place for my cars! They have always taken care of me- caring people, reasonable, and only do what is needed- Jeff and Donna are like my friends! I can not recommend them more- living in a small town in IN and IL for most of my life I found the same kind of caring people taking care of my cars! As a widow, they give the best- go no other place ! This place is a true American icon!
