Our classic 1965 Mustang GT fastback quit running in Venice on a Friday evening in November. The engine seemed to run out of gas. I assumed a failed fuel pump was the culprit due to the fact the car was only driven about 25 miles after filling the 22 gallon gas tank. We had trailered the Mustang from west Georgia with a full tank. I had a wrecker (rollback) deliver the car to American Imports. I discussed my predicament (via a phone conversation) on Monday morning with the American Imports management personnel. After checking out the problem, they discovered the tank was empty; added gas and the car started with no work required. Apparently someone had stolen the gas at one of our two overnight stays during our trip to the Arcadia RV park. I’m writing this as a THANK YOU to American Imports primarily for their honesty and integrity. As we all know, I was wide open for a huge bill for parts and labor that wasn’t needed but many shops would have taken advantage of my situation especially since we were only visiting the area. If I lived in the Venice area, American Imports would be my go to business for mechanical work on my Mustang.
